Textiles : Jacqi Adkins

Jacqi's interest in the philosophy and principles of Japanese design concepts together with her research on wrappings, has influenced this series of panels showing sensibility and expression. They are her intuitive response to studying traditional kimono patterns.

This method of visual communication interweaves the fields of embroidery, contemporary art and interior design.

Jacqi likes to incorporate quirky elements in design or materials giving her work strong personal identity. There is hidden humour if you can find it!

Jacqi's recent exhibitions include Embroiders Guild Graduate Showcase - Knitting and Stitch Show 2008, NEC Birmingham, Alexandra Palace London, International Exhibition Centre Harrogate.
