Painter : Denise Laurent

Born in Guernsey in the Channel Islands she now lives in London with her husband and five cats. Her paintings are in private collections all over the world. Denise paints landscapes and animals, but a love of cats has led to her specialising in feline portraiture. She works in oils and acrylics. She is a full member of the Society Of Feline Artists and won the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery award in 2007.

" I am interested in the private life of the animals I'm painting. I try to capture their personality and spirit, their individuality and their quirks. I want to know what it’s like to live with them and to try to get a sense of that coming through in the painting. Despite their beauty it’s the funny things they do and their unique personalities that make us love them and that’s what I try to paint."

Original paintings, limited edition prints and cards are available in some galleries or direct from the artist. Denise also takes commissions.
