EVA has a new window, in fact four!

Eden Valley Artists (EVA) have taken over four empty windows at 83, High Street, Edenbridge, by kind permission of developer inXteriors, who have refurbished and decorated the windows in preparation for the artists.

It is hoped this will make a positive contribution to revitalising the High Street, and follows on from EVA’s first window project at the old cinema at 67 High Street, Edenbridge, that is due to be demolished shortly.

EVA members will fill two windows with a selection of work in a variety of media, including painting, etching, ceramics, glass and sculpture.

Guest artist Lisa Griffiths from Forest Row will join EVA members Sarah Medway, Denise Laurent and Lois Sykes to show work inspired by the Ashdown Forest, in the two remaining windows.

The exhibition will continue until the end of November.

In December it is hoped to feature Nativity and other Christmas scenes, made by local primary schoolchildren and groups such as Brownies and Cubs. EVA committee member Shiv Duke has already started liasing with schools to arrange this.

EVA is a voluntary non-profit making organisation, which aims to raise the profile of the visual arts in the Eden Valley area and support the development of local artists.

Sevenoaks District Council awarded funding to support EVA’s window project as part of the community grant scheme.
